Bbblin, May 24. The next sitting of the Conference dealing with Samoan Affairs will take place on Tnesday next. It is rumored among the delegates. that the German Government intend to claim an indemnity from King Mataafa for the attaok on tho German sailors, m which he was successful. The American delegates strongly oppose Mataafa being held to blame for his part m the struggle, and they assert he only acted m self defence. Another ground upon whioh the American dele* gates reject German diotation is that the natives, even if an indemnity wow ordered, are too poor to pay,
