TO THB EDITOR. Sir,— l read Mr Rl Alcorn's reply to " Londoner " m your last night's Issne, and I think he Is very aompllmentary to tbe people of Aahbur'on. It would never do for us all to lo k as clever as Mr A!oorn,and we would b Indeed very simple were we to slave the asme as th > people of London. Bat that Is not the point. I merely wish to uphold " Londoner "m his remarks. Although very young when I left Loudon I o«n well remember that ail firms of high * standing closed at 1 p.m on Saturday, with the exoeptloa of the Jews In Petti* cost Line, the Mlnorles, New Oat, and suoh plsoer, Even they had the deosnoy to close on Saturdays at 6 p.m., it being - their Sabbath, I am etc , ' Another Oooknt*.
