Tbe Ohau ?* n was authorised to have tbe matter completed as required by the Public Works Act. The Chairman laid upon the table the eleotoral roll supplied by the County Council, together with. the defaulteri lilt of ratepayers, also the statement of re»l property as supplied by the Property-Tax Oommfasloner. A memo was received from the Survey offioei together with plans of sections taken np on the deferred and perpetual i lease system, Intimating that a sum of money was available for roads. — The Cbalrnan was Instructed to reply that the money when forthcoming would be expended on the roads In the vicinity of the Beotlons used by the different settlers. A petition for stone picking about five miles of road leading to Balmg 1 Station was agreed to. Mr Goodwin undertook to attend to the work, ' A petition against numerous bad gates across tbe public road leading to Baling adjoining property belonging to Bank of New Zealand was received,— The Chairman was instructed to have them removed as no application had been made for their erection - Tenders for keeping fords m repair were reoelved.- The matter of selection was left m the hande of the Chairman. A ballot for the retirement of two members next May resulted m the selection of Messrs Eluislie and Harper. The Chairman was requested to puss work near Mr Ohiaaall'B on the Rang'tala ' B.idge-Hindaroad, The Chairman and Mr Peter undertook to inspect road near Gawler Downs brought under the notice of the Board b Mr E. Q. Weight through Mr Strachey. After passing payments amounting to £37 the Board adjourned, ,
