KING HUMBERT

At a military banquet held last night, m this city, m honor of the visit of King Humbert, of Italy, the Emperor William, m the course of a speech referred to tha | unalterable friendship existing between Germany and Italy. King Humbert said the nnity of the two countries was a guarantee of European peace, and that the armies of the respective countries knew how to fulfil the great task entrusted to them by the people. The "National Zeitung," m the course of. an article this tuprniug, remarks that France is deceiving herself if she thinks it would be possible to retain, or at any rate increase 'to any extent, her influence m the Mediterranean during a European conflict if Italy were hostile to any such ambition, '"
