WILLIAMS AND BLAND.
Messrs Williams and Bland report having : held their weekly sale of horses on Saturday the xßth May, 1889, The entry consisted of 26 horses, 16 of which were sold at very satis* ~ - factory prices. There was a good demand for ■ draughts, every draught horse being sold, bat , ' • hacks are dull of sale. There was a large * attendance of farmers and others and the > bidding on the whole was good, anything like good sorts fetching good prices ; we could have sold more if we had them m. The following are the prices obtained :— Six-year-old geldings, £25, £24 ios, £23 ; medium do £17 ios, £17. £1$ los ; 3-year old celt, £ao; aged do £$ 15s. £] ios ; medium 6*year»old mares, £18 ios. £15 ios ; 3-year-old fillies, £l 8 ios, £1% ios ; hacks and buggy horsey, £10 ss to £6; crocks £z 103. Harness, saddle and breeching .£5 5s ; collar, harness, and winkers £1 and £1 ss ; horse covers, new, £1 ios to 15s ; second hand, 103 to 9s ; s«t 4-leaf harrows, £\ 15s. Produce— Potatoes, 9s 6d, Bs, 7* 6d per'bagj chickwheat, 7s fid per bag; pig feed, 51 M per bag; onions, 2>£d pet lb«
