Wright, Esq., Dear Sir,— ln reply to your enquiries re lime, on a piece of land m oats this season, I spread 25 cwt to the aore. The difference was very marked. I estimate the increase at 10 bushels per acre, and expect a substantial increase on portion limed for several years. 1 also limed a stiip m a paddock sown with turnips, with about the same quantity of lime per aore, and the difference is even more marked than m the pleoe sown with ofttift —Yours Faithfully, Johk Hood Sprlngburn May Ist, 1889. Yeur« Truly, A. M. MoPablaxk. BIVERBDALE. Milton, May 15th, 188% Ms Wbiqht, Dear Sir,— l Am m receipt of yours of the 11th, re lime, and beg to say that I have used a good deal of it the last few years, and have got very good remit! from Its use for both oats and wheat, I cropped the land the first year with tnrnips, and dressed part of it with font tons of small lime to the aore, part with stock-yard manure, and part with 4owt Maldon Guano per aore. Next cropped with oats and barley, and had 70 buiheli of barley^ and 30 bushels of oats to the acre ; It was laid down one year and then pat In wheat and gave 40 bushels to thai tore. I thoroughly believe we could not get anything like the crops we do if Its were not for tha lime. This yesr I bought another property, and I intend to nse 600 tons. I get it at Mllburn Lima Kilns. This same /aim I bought aboofc ten years ago, the party that had It pat on a few loads of the small lime, and it ■hows as deatlnotly as possible; 6Q busbels was about the highest I evw go| ot Qitl antli I aied the 11ms.
