THE STRIKE IN WESTPBALIA.

The Emperor William received a deputation representing the miners on strike m Weßtpbalia, and accorded them an interview of ten minutes. The delegates asked the Emperor to make enquiry into the circumstances as between the miners and the mine owners Which led up to the strike The Emperor William said that he was already making enquiries m this direction. He warned the miners that he would employ all the great power he had at his disposal to repress Socialist agitation and intrigues. If the slightest resistance were shown to authority, every man taking part m such resistance would be shot, but if the miners were peaceful they would be proteoted by the Government while endeavoring to secure their rights. . The strike occasions a daily loss of oapital to the extent of a million marks.
