AUCTIONEERS REPORTS.

MR ALFRED HARRISON, Mr Alfred Harrison reports for the week as follows : — Saturday, nth May-r-Cows. — A goo* entry with a demand for Animals close to calving. Sales made from £4. to 7s 6d ; stores, 30s to 50s. Pigs. — Small s'zes 4s 6d, ss, 6s, 103, 10s 6d, 13s; porkers, aos to 30s; sows, 25s to 27s 6d. Poultry. — Fowls, is gd to 28 with enquiry ( for good killiDg birds. Ducks 2s 9d to 3s ; ■ young turkeys ss" 6d per pair. Implements.— Light pig, ; plough, S.F., £2 ; set of harness, covers, etc. Produce. — Derwents, 5s to 7s 6d ; onions, id to 2d per 1b ; chickwheat, 2s, 2s 6d to 2s gi; oats, 2s to 2s 7d per bushel ; sharps, 6s to 7s ; bran, 43 6dj carrots, 2s 6d; flour, 9s per 100 lb; hams and bacon, 4d to 6d ; mutton, Il^d per lb j carcase pork, 3d to 3j£ per lb ; apples, 5s 6d; tea, 14s. ' WILLIAMS, JSLAND, AND CO. . Messrs Willioms, Bland, and Co. report having held their weekly sale of horses on Saturday, the nth May. The entry consiscad rf3O horses, 24 of which were sold at very satisfactory prices, taking into consideration the large number ot horses advertised for sale! on the same day. There was a large number of farmers and outside buyers, but the bidding, on the whole was slow, although the competition for good sorts shows that there is still a demand for young, sound, upstanding horses with plenty of bone and feather about them, The following are the prices obtained :— : Six year old geldings, £29, ; 4 and 5 year ol 1 mares and geldings, 10s, £ 18, ;£i6 10s. Mr William Hastie's 10 from the West Taieri were a very good useful lot of young horses with plenty of timber, but on the small side. They caused a good deal of talk and discussion among the horsey men. Eight of them, 3 to 6 years old, averaged 18s per head (viz 4 year old colts and fillies, £24, £19, ;£iß 10s, ;£i6 10s ; 3 year old colts and fillies £21, £19, /17 10s,, £17 ; aged horses 10s to £14 ; hacks and buggy horses, £10 10s to ,£l3 ; scrubbers, 7s 6d to £3 xos. We also sold the racehorses "Glenrowan" and "J ess " at £ xl IOS * n< * ;£io respectively. " Toorak " not reaching the owner's reserve, was passed m. Implements. — Dray and harness, ; D.F. plough, £6 15s j harroWSj £4. ; shaft harness, £5 ; leading chains, 23s 6d, 235; collar, names, and winkers, 17s 6d.
