THE RAILWAY RETURNS.
Tl'ft Railway returns for the year ended 31st M.roh last, have been published, and show that 3,132,803 passengers were carried, as against 3,-51 850 fo the previous year-— a decrease of 319,047. There was also a decrease In liva stook and wool, bnt large increases ia grain and mineral*, the ezoess In each boing nearly 90,000 tons. The nett profi a for the year amount to a return of 2$ per cent on tbe . total oost of the railway*
