PACIFIC MAIL SERVICE.

Ottawa, May 3. Parliament has authorised the Government of the Dominion to arrange for a fortnightly mail service from Van* couver to Australia and New Zealand and agrees to subsidise the service to the extent of ,£25,000 yearly. Parliament is also willing to vote ;£ 100,000 for a weekly service between Canada and England.
