EDUCATION IN AUSTRIA.

A Bill, amending the law m respect to elementary schools, has been presented to the Reichsrath. The Church is entrusted with the providing of religious education, but the Bill stipulates that the teachers m imparting religious instruction shail be bound by the rules of Educational Department. The Bill determines the time to be devoted to the various subjects of instruction, and fixes the ages at which attendance of children shall be compulsory, at from 6 to 14 yea r ?«_
