THE SAN FRANCISCO MAIL.
_T__boub~b, April 29. Mr Mills, managing director of the Union Steamship Company, interviewed the Hon Mr Gillies, Premier of Victoria, and asked if there was any disposition on the part of Victoria to assist m the establishment of a more frequent service lietween Australia and San Francisco. Mr Gillies replied that he could hold out no encouragement of assistance from Victoria m the direction indicated,
