THE GARNIVL AT THE RINK DE PARIS.

There was a good attendance at the Rink de Paris last evening, and a long and varied programe was successfully carried out. After the Maypole Dance, the perfection of whieb was somewhat marred by the misconduct of some larrikin m whistling so as to eonfaseth* exeoutanta, whose movements are controlled by the whistle of the conductor, the Bleating raoe for ladies m Oxford and Cambridge) colors came oS, three competitors wearing; the light and three the dare blue. It was ran off m pairs, and was won by Cambridge by 3to 3. The Chinese spangle competition resulted m a win for '•Shanghai." The) Grand March, led by Mr and Miia Elston, waß prettily performed, and was followed by tha favorite country dance, Sir Roger de Qoverley, on skates eight ladies and as many gentleman taking part, and going through all the maaei of the dance without a bitoh. The wearer* of fancy costume having omitted to leave their cards and names we oannot give a detailed list bat may mention as among the most noticeable the following viz, Ladies:— Oriental Maiden, Red Riding Hood (2), Spanish Dan* sense, Fairy, Maritana, Parlor Maid, Jooktf, Irish Peasant Girl, Spanish Peasant ; Gentlemen:—Prince Charming, Barrister, Major* General, Middy, Highlander, Stookman, Footballer, Sailors, and Gentlemen of tht last century. The Borough Brass Band performed during tho evening very ereditablj indeed especially considering the Bhort timi that it has been established — this being indeed the Band's first engagement. Tha hall was as on previous similar oooasions beautifully deoorated and a* very enjoyable evening wtt spent.
