Oh, that Preoentor's look When the Sopranos took Their own time and hook From the " Old Hundred } » Soreeohed ail the trebles there, Boggled the tenors were, Raising the parson's hair, While his mind wondered ; Theirs not to reason why This psalni was pitohed too high. Theirs but to gasp and ory Out the Old Hundred. Trebles to right of them, Tenors to left of them, Basses m front of them, bellowed and thundered. Stormed they with shout and yell, Not wisely sang, nor well, Drowning the sexton's bell, All the churoh wondered. Dire the Precentor's glare, Flashed the pitchfork iv air, Sounding fresh keys to bear Out the « Old Hundred." Swiftly he turned hia baok, Reaohed his hat from tfye rack, Then from the soreaming paok Himself he sundered, Tenors to right of him, Trebles to left of him, Basses m front of him, Bellowed and thundered; Oh, the wild bowls they wrought ! Bight to the end they fought { Some tune they saug, but not, Not the « Old Hundred."
