CHRIBTOHOROH, April 17The weather to-day was fine and . the attendance at the market very good. Store Sheep. — This was the most important feature of the sale, all the yards set apart for this purpose being " ohook-f nil. " Young oroßsbreds realised from 8s to 8s 10J. A line of forward orossbred wethers was sold for lis 3d. A large entry fram Oraigieburn of big framed merino ewes at 3s 3d ; cross, bred lambs sold from 4s 3d to 6b 6d ; merino wethers from 2s 6d to 2s lid ; a line of oroisbred ewes with good mouths 7s, and old ewes were 3s 2d to 4s 2d.
Fat Sheep. — As compared with the last few weeks the entry of fat sheep was muoh less, and the quality very deoidedly inferior. Suoh pens of prime mutton as were sold at the earlier portion of the sale fetobed fully 2d per lb, but as there was a considerable amount of inferior quality remaining, quotations were very varied. One especially heavy pen of halfbred wethers sent from Temuka fetohed 20s a head.
Fat Lambs. — The entry was smaller than usual, but the prices obtained were very satisfactory to vendors, best quality fetching up to 9b. Fat Cattle. — There was a very moderate entry of beef. Prioea remained firm at last week's quotations. Prime ox beef realised up to 17s 6d per lOOlba. Inferior quality was m better demand than formerly.
Store Cattle.— There was a moderate entry of Btore cattle. The demand was not as great as last week, several lines being withdrawn. A line of 3-year-old bullocks m threequarter fair condition fetohed £4 18s 6d. Two year old steers went from £2 5s to £2 10s. Heifers of the Bame age brought from 30s to S7s Od. Dairy cows were selling at good prices, up to £9 being proouxed fox some prime sorts. Calves— There were some good vealers on Bale whioh realised from 16s to 25s according to quality. Pigs.— The yards were again well filled with porkers, and stores, whioh all sold well. Best quality of pork went to close on 5d per lb, while store pigs were m keen demand.
