Then mother rooks beside the hearth Her llttl* ones among, And life forgets Us cares to hear The songs my mother sung. O, long the grass has grown above That loving mother's face, Bnt attllp m faithful hearts ahe keeps Her old, her dear old plaoe. No other songs oan be so sweet As those we heard when young, When sitting at our mother's knee— Tot songs onr mother 'sung.
