HORSE MARKET.

Mr T. Bullock reports for the week ending Saturday, April 13th, as follows : — :42 horses were brought forward for the ! day's safe. ,£ There was a very good attendance of farmers and others, the principal ' attraction being a line of 12 young draught colts and fillios from Southland, brought forward by Mr Edward SauDdem for which biddings were more spirited than for some weeks past, and up to £28 10s was obtained for a 3-year-o'd cole unbroken. The whole of this entry was sold at^iatisfaotory prices aa given below. Also on acoonnt of Mr Edward Herring, Alford Estate, 1 sold a number of young, trap horses broken and unbroken up to £15, A very nice line of unbroken colts and fillies from Ooldstream Estate were turned out unsold, farmers preferring to purchase horses broken and auitatlo for immediate work. Out of the total entry of 42. 28 were sold at the following prices, viz ;— On account of Mr B, S'aunders, draught colts, 3-year old unbroken, £20, £20. £20 10s, £24, £24 10s, £24 10a, £23, £27 10*, and JE2B 10s ; 3-year-old filly, £24 10b ; 4 -year-old oolt broken, £19 10s ; 5 year old, £21. On account of other vendors medium draughts, 6-year-olds, £15 and £l 7 10a ; 3 and 4-year-olds of a lighter description, £13 10d, £15; aged, £11; inferior, £5 15a end £6 10s ; light harness horses, £7 10* ; unbroken, £5 10b, £7 10a, £8, and one of a good stamp up to £15 ; hacks, mostly inferior, changing hand/ at £2 2a 6d, £2 10s, up to £7 10s acoordiog to description. Sundries, harness, horse covets, etc, at market ratep.
