Mr D. Thomas (late of Matson, Oox, aid Oo.) reports upon the Live Stook Maiket for the Ashburton distriot for the' week ending April 9 h, aa follows .'---On Tuesday at the Tinwald Yarda we held our usual weekly sale of sheep, oattle, and pigs. There was agtln .a large entry o.mprl.log about 11 000 sheep, 90 rams, and 60 haxd cf cattle, of which I sold 70 -aras, 5975 shft-p, and 40 hoad of oattle. I sold Lincoln rami from l£ to 1| guineas ; Border Leicester, £2 2>; E-gllsh tehrater, 2J guineas; fat crossbred ewes, 7* 4d, 6. 10 i, to 10a 61 ; or osa bred ewee, stores, 6s to 6i lid j oroesbred ewes ani wethers, 7s si; merino ewes, la 81 2. 43, 2i 6i, and 3s ; oroasbred lambs culls, 3a 5i and 4i; orossbred lambs, 6s lOd, 7s 9 _ to 8s 6d; oros.bred ewes and wethers, 7ssd; fafc heifers, £3 10. to £4 17s 6 J ; store steers m good condition, £5 ; mixed store oattle, 2-year-old, 25* ; yearlings, 20j.
