London, April 11 The New Zealand Midland Railway Company issue .-£745,000, 5 per cent first mortgage debentures, at 92 x /^.
Mr Speight, Victorian Railway Commissioner, has refused the offer of the Midland Railway Company: o remain m England on the ground tbat he gave the Victorian Premier a pledge 1 hat he would remain m the colony on condition of his salary being increased. He refuses to disclose the nature of the offer made to him by the Midland Company, but has informed the Government of Victoria that he will resign it his salary be not increased,
