LORD LONDONDERRY'S SUCCESSOR.
It is expected that the Duke of Abercorn will succeed the Marquis of Londonderry as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. Lord Salisbury was much disinclined to accept the Marquis's resignation, but the Marquis declined to reconsider the matter on the ground that the Marchioness was not equal to the strain of fulfilling her social duties.
