The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following cable message from their , London office, under date 9th April : — 1 Since closing of last sales the following advances have taken place : — Superior greasy, #d per lb; medium and inferior greasy, nearly }£d; scoured, }£d to id ; fine greasy crossbred, j£d ; fine scoured crossbred, J^d; other descriptions are unchanged. Up to date 71,000 bales have been sold. The following private cable message from London was received m Christchurch yesterday : — Wheat market very weak. Cargo of Closeburn, from Timaru, has been withdrawn for Gloucester. Nominal value, 34s per 4801 b, c.i.f. F.a.q. New Zealand wheat, ex store, 35s 6d per 4961 b. (Keoelved April 11, 12 2 pm.) London. April 10. The American visible wheat supply is 28,000,000 bushels. Wheat and flour afloat, 1,856,000 quarters ; for the Continent, 840,000 quarters.
