AFFAIRS IN FRANCE. .
(peh niHsa asbooution.) Pabis, April 3. The trial of thoso charged with complicity m the acts of tho Patriotic League commenced to-day, when M. Naqnet, member of the Senate, and M. M. Laguorio, Turnet, and Deroulede (President of the Patriotic League), leaders of the League, were called upon to answer charges mode against them. Tht Chamber waß crowded and a great sensation resulted when the charges were read. Precautions were taken by tho military authorities to prevent disorder. During tho proceedings M. Deffis, member of the Senate, against whom similar proceedings are about to bo taken, protested against tho course adopted, on the ground that tho tribunal was a hostile and unnatural one, although he was prepared to appear before the ordinary Judges on the charges preferred against him. In the Chamber of Deputies a Bill providing for tho prosecution of persons accused of libelling publio officials was rejected, Paris, April 4. The action of General Boulanger m leaving Franco has caused several of his principal supporters to accuse him of cowardice.
