M.* Taylor, M.H.Rs., requesting them to assist In prooariug farther legislation for proteoting the fruit-growing Industry against tho oodlin moth. They suggested levying a small tax on fruit trepij, the prohibltl >n of importation of fruit from districts within the colony where the nvth exists, and the division of the colony Into fruit districts { the administration of the Aot to be left to the local bodies. The members promised to do what they could to repress the pent by legislation. Mr Reeves thought that the Aot would be administered with greater uniform'*? and strictness by the General Government than by th& looal bodies. It was suggested that sheep Inspectors might also aot as orchard inspectors. Mr Rhodes, M. H.R. telegraphed sympathising with the object of the deputation. i
