ATTEMPTED MURDER AND SUICIDE.

While Dr Taafe was entering a buggy at Rochester, a man named Gaffney shot him from the balcony of an hotel, and his condition is critical. Gaffney immediately committed suicide by shooting himself. Gaffney had been Dr Taafe's dispenser, and the doctor suspecting that the accounts were wrong suspended him." It is believed that this led to the crime.
