Mr Gladstone delivered a formal panegyric on the /late John Bright m the House of Commons to-day. He said his old colleague had bern removed from the busy scene of life at a happy moment, when the great cause of freetrade which he advocated for so many years was m full career of i triumph. His opposition to Home Rule, though disappointing to those with whom he had been long associated, h*d not besn able to provoke disparageraeht of his character on their part, but he believed it had produced a deeper impression than either his distinguished intellect or his splendid eloquence. Mr Bright's supreme eulogy was an elevated political life"of~Tne loftiest standard, which had become the object of reverential contemplation, and caused his name to be indelibly I written m the hearts of all Englishmen. London. Muroh 31The funeral of the late John Bright took place to-day, deceased being interred m the Quakers' cemetery at Rochdale, Lancashire. Among those who followed the remains were representatives ot her Majesty the Queen and a large number of members of the House of Commons and other political bodies.
