A mooting of local shareholders iv the South Paoifio Petroleum Oompany was held to-day. It was oonvened Id ooneequecoe of the reoelpt of a telegram from the Sydney Direotors stating tbat Mr Weaver, tbe borer, has resigned. It was stated at the meeting Mr Weaver resigned io consiq-enoe of the unfavorable orliicism of the local shareholders. A motion waa pared requesting Weaver to continue his test. He appeared to have swam to within six yards of the training wall, as the body wbb found there m 6ft of water. It seems certain that the unfortunate you*h lost bia life through hts rowing knlokarb ackers slipping over his hips and hampering bim, as he was an excellent swimmer, and/*mlled as he was swimming to the bank, after seeing bis companions comparatively safe clinging to the skiff. Only a singlet was on the body when fonnd. A verdict of accidental death Was returned by tbe jary, who added a rider oomm.ndlng Hall for his aotion m saving the oox.waln.
