OBITUARY.
Lohdoh, Maroh 19. The death is announced of Samuel Carter Hall, F.S.A., aged 88.
[Mr Hall established the " Art Journal " m 1839, and this aerial haa had a considerable Influence on the progress of British art and art-manufacture, Mr Hall alto edited the " Book of Gams," " Book of English Ballads," " Bironlal Halls," and many others. He assisted In found Ing some excellent charities In London, amongst which may be mentioned the Hospital for Consumption, the Governesses Institution, and thePenslonera Employment Soolety, He also »oted as one of the hon. secretaries 0! the Nightingale Fund.]
The death is also annonnced of Percy St John, novelist.
