THE NEW ZEALAND JUBILEE EXHIBITION
LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE. (PbrPbks association.) Dunedin, Mar oh 20 Save occasional showers the weather is Tery favorable and the day ia being kept as a close holiday. The city is en fete. A procession comprising the Trade and Friendly Societies local bodies and and Volunteers formed m the Triangle and after parading Princes street from the Octagon marched to the Exhibition Bite, where the foundation stone was laid with Masonic rites. The only speeches delivered wer« by the President, Mr Rob9rts, and His Excellency, but neither rose to the level of the occasion. The Exhibition Commissioners presented His Exoellenoy with a millet of New Zealand woods lultably Inscribed. The streets were lined with people. Everything passed off ■atbfaotorlly.
