REDUCTIONS IN RAILWAY RATES
Rsoently the Railway Oommiasioners have g. z?tted reduced railway rates for goods carried In small quantities. The limit Is lowt, and the goods belong to what are known m the railway tariff as Olaes E. Tbe new rates apply to poultry, butter, eggs, honey, game, oheese, fish, seeds, etc. For example, living poultry and game, 281 b weight, can be carried 30 miles for la, or 50 miles for Is Cd; 561 b oan be carried 20 miles for Is 2d, ai d 50 miles for Is lid, while 1121 b oan be carried 20 miles for Is 6i, and 50 miles for 2* lid. For butter and oheese (packed), the'following are the rates, for 561 b, the rate for 20 miles is lOd ; for 50 miles, Is 7d ; for 84 b tho rate for 20 miles is lid; for 40 miles, la 9i. Tbe races i«x freßh fish are as low and In some cases lower than those just quoted. It may be added that Id all oases the above, rates Include delivery m Ohrlslohorob. ' The notification making tho changes appeared In the "Gazitte" of the 28 h ult.. and the rates, of course, apply for all distances, the instances quoted ab^ve being given a.3 Illustrations only.— 1 ' Press."
