TIN AND SILVER AT THE GREY
There ii very good ground for stating , that before long the dlaoovery of a rich find of stream tin (n this district will be announced, (says the ttrey River ♦•'Argus. 1 ') It Is not the first time that j report! of good prospects of tin have been ! heard Sere ; indeed we believe that shortly before the Midland Railway O mpany commenced operations application was made tot one or two leaiea ; bat as it was understood that they were located with the boundaries of the autborlied reserve for the Company nothing more has been heard of them Now, however, that the reserve from which the Company can select their land grants has been laid out, there m nothing to prevent any prospector holding a miner's right or » proipeotlng licet so from searching for gold or silver — and we proiume tin alao, although that metal is not mentioned— within the authorised area prior to the grant of such lands to the Company ; and they can only take up their land pari paasu with the work of construction. It Is also stated that a a silver lode has been found m close proximity to the tin ; but for obvious reasons tha lucky finder is very retloont as to the exaot locality.
