THE AUSTRALIAN SQUADRON.
In the House of Commons Baron de Worms, replying to the Right Hon J. E. Shaw Lefevre, stated that despite the action of the Queensland Parliament m refusing to contribute to the cost of the Australian squadron by its rejection of the Naval Defence Bill most of the other colonies had urged the British Government to proceed with the construction of vessels for the Australian fleet.

Replying to a question m the House of Commons, Baron De Worms said be felt confident that Queensland would yet contribute its share towards the cost of the Australian fleet.
