SOUTH RAKAIA SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The uaual monthly meeting was held In the Library on Monday evening. Present : Messrs Pyke (Übslrman), Broadbent, Clark, Dowllng, Turner and Ozley. Mr Turner, after repeated Interruptions, said he thought a BUDtGommlttee should have been appointed. It would have been far 'more satisfactory. The master reported the average attendance for the past month aa 165 6 ; for last week, 149 5 ; highest attendance, IQ4 ; nnuuer on roll, 219, He asked for additional desks for the infants' room, for another side gate and for the grounds to bo levolled. The Chairman was requested to see about new (leeks. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Oxley not to ereot a net? , gnto but to utilise the large ones. X It was. resolved to ask the master to supply a list of all books used at the Bohool, shewing prices oharged for same Acoounts for £1 19a 6d were paised for payment. Meeara Oxloy and Olark wero appointed a yiaitiDg oommittee for the month, and after a lively discussion respecting rematka made by the Chairman at the distribution of prises and other matters the meeting adjourned 6
