CAP AND JACKET COMPANY

We were sorry to see a very poor house Indeed at the second performance of Mlbb Amy Vaughan's Cap and Jacket Company at the Oddfollowa' Hall last evening, notwithstanding whloh the programme was carried throngh faithfully and with spirit. Io the obalr business, with the usual songs, dialogues and jokea, Mlbb May Travers as lnterlooatrlx (the feminine " Mr Jobaaon ") acquitted heraelf very pleasingly, and the novelty of ladiei as bones and tambo was lomethlng quite fresh. The dresses are very good, and altogether the " ahow " (a deoldedly creditable to the company. The droning throughout 1b good, and the stage mountIng appropriate. Sbme of the plantation songs and dances are very well given, both M!a« May Travera and little Daisy Thorn* ton being exoaodlngly neat dancers. The weak point of the Company is that none of them oan be aaid to possess mnsloal talent of a high order, their danoing, dressing and burlesque noting being evidently their /orte. A jookey hornpipe by little Daisy was a very pretty performance, and a plantation song and dance, In whloh she was assisted by Mlbs May Travera, " The Apple of my Eye," wbs a first-rate thing of the kind, and was loudly encored. la the bnrleiquo performances, Mlai Amy Vaoghan takes the leading parts, and Is very ably aooonded by Mr Oollyer and the otber members of the Company. T7nqnalified oommendatlon may be given to Mr Oollyer's porformanoea on two silver whistles, whloh are exceptionally olever and good, both Instruments being played at the same time, the air being taken npon one and the aooompanlment or aeoond on the other. Altogether the entertainment la bright and sparkling and affords a pleasant means of passing a couple of hours away, It la to be hoped that the publlo will give the little Oom- ! pony better support at the final perform* anoe thli evenlDg, for whloh an entire change of programme is announced,
