I Rvdnbv, Maroh 6 The increase m the yield of wheat m the colony, although not so rapid as m Victoria and South Australia, has increased 168 per cent, during the past ten years, while the population has only advanced ;7o per cent. It is expected that with a like steady increase the colony m a few years will be able to supply her own requirements. Complete statistics are not ready yet for publication, those furnished being only a forecast of the official report. This year's crop is the smallest since 187 1. It is calculated that ,the drought will entail a loss of ■^900,000. j
