A FAMOUS DWARF DEAD

The dwarf Eruat Geyer, who was known professionally as General Tom Pounoe, a diminutive little fellow who was well known In the show world, was bnrled yesterday from the house of Mr John Widmann, No 76 Green Street. Tom was born m Germany m 1841, and when a ohlld In short clothes he waa already exhibited by his parents m olrouses and museums, and when grown up to manhood he travelled with Pom Tnumb and appeared before many of thq, European crowned heads. After yean of wanderings and equanderlog of one fortune after another, he concluded to come to Cleveland, where his brother, who has since died, was then living, and settled down. He opened a olgar store on Loralne Street, but some two weeks ago he was taken sick and, having no relative m the city, he became low-spirited and despondent. One day be was visited by Me Widmann, and the little dwarf burst Into tears and said, "I »m poor and sick, my money is all gone ; there is no one to take oare of me ; won't you take me home with you?" Mr Wldmann pitied the little fellow, and gave him shelter, food, and attendance In bis homa la Green Street. All the dwarf had m the world was a lady's gold watch and ohain and a diamond ring, and In despondent moods he was wont to say that he saved those articles In order to have enough for his funeral expenses.
