Wright's a Urge quantity of grain has already been made ready for market* All the samples of grain, I hear, are of good quality, but the yield will be, on the whole, a light one, and the straw is short. The turnips sown for winter food look, except m a few oases, a complete failure. Some time ago there was some promise of a good show, bat after they came up the heat combined with the nigh winds of last month shrivelled them op. Yesterday a serious accident happened to Tommy Cousins, an old man well known m the neighborhood. He was thrown at Tnrton's corner from his horse, and, It is said, severely kicked. At one time he was reported to be dead, at another to be merely unconscious. The last news I heard was that he was badly hurt, and his recovery considered as doubtful, Cousins had been for a long time m Mr J. Hood's employment, and is said to be seventy-six year a of age. I was told this morning as a fact that poor Cousins is really de«d; indeed, that he never moved afer his fill.
