The inquest on tne body of the infant found on Sunday on the outskirts of the town was held to-day, and adjourned to give the police an opportunity to make further inquiries. The medioal evidence went to show that although the child was probably alive when born, it had never breathed nor swallowed. There was a depressed fnoture of the skull, but this might have been the result of a blow within two hours of death; The body was much decomposed, and was found m a swampy place difficult of access, the police being of a opinion that the woman was not likely to have made her way to the spot ___________
