London, February 25. At the Special Commission to-day evidence was given that Houston had employed Pigott to obtain the celebrated letters m Paris. The cross-examination of Pigott indicates that the latter forged those he sold to the " Times."
I (Reoeived February 26, H63 a.m.) London, February 25. Pigott admitted applying to Mr Forster m 1681 for a thousand pounds for serfices rendered to the loyalist oause. He received £170, as a oharity, on the plea, tha.t he was going to America, but Forster refused him £200 to visit Australia, whereupon Pigott threatened to betray him, and they quarrelled. Pigott denied forging the "Times" letters by copying words and phrases from letters from Mr Parnell to Egan relating to the sale of the '« Irishman " newspaper. The revelations hare caused great excitement m London, and the Strand was thronjr*£ w i t h an excited orowd. who cheered °Mr Parnell.
The Commission has ordered a olose watch to be kept upon Pigott to prevent him making his escape. It is believed he will be arrested for perjury.
