At the Land Board meeting to-day, th« question was asked if the statements dlida by some papers as to the Midland Rallwty Company's action m asking exorbitant prlceß for land, and presenting the Company's view of the qaestlon, were correct? The Cblef Oomtnlasloner said the statements were not correct. The poßltlon as stated at the previous meeting of the Board, and telegraphed, was the correct one. The Board adopted a resolution asking Government to reply to their former latter urging that settlement be allowed to proceed, as it was • matter of vital Importance to the district, settlement having already been retarded five years, owing to the Midland Rsllvay reservations.
