To this all the agents agreed with the exception of the Deering agent, who objected, being appirpntly under a misapprohnnßion that the judge or judges might plump for one maohine. This was a mistake, as it was stipul ted that no machine was to be left unplaced on the cards. Those pr< sent, about 609, became- demonstrative, and mostly sided with the experts. The Committee deolined to give way, and finally the Deniog maohine started to cut its plot for the owner of the paddook. The experts with other machines did not like this, as it gave the Deering an opportunity of showing Its work, bo one after another set ia rear of the Deering and cut a paddock of forty acres, do expert being able to point any plot as the work of his maohine. All the machines did excellent work, m faot one of the Committee told the experts that they were like the Great Powers m Europe they were all so perfectly equipped for war that they were afraid of each other.
