The Ashbarton team that went to the Rakaia on Saturday bad a most enjoyable day.bel'g very hospitably treated by the Rakaia Grioket Olub and had also the satisfaction of win nine; the matoh by five wickets to fall. Messrs Seoretan and Blytb for the home team bowled daring both innings exccoedingly well. Messrs Blytb, Kemp and Dixon gave their side great assistance m the batting line. For the Ashburton team Mr Jenkins ably assisted by Mr Andrews disposed of the whole of the Bakaia team for the small total of 17 runa m the first innings, bat In spite of tho good bowling of these gentlemen the Bakaia ttam m their seoond innings played such a good uphill game that the result of the matoh was rendered doubtful until Mr Denshire by hie vigorous hitting tamed the bal^aoe of the runs m favor of the home team.
