THE SWISS JODELLERS.

The performance of the Swiss Band and Mountain Singers who play at the Oddfellows Hall on Monday and Tuesday next, provide a novel and Interesting form of oonoert entertainment, most refined m character, and musically exoeilent In an exceptional degree.' The vocal powers of the leadiog members of the Company are of the highest, order, and their rendering of the national Swiss and Tyrolean songs, ohoruaes, da& jodels, is obaraoterloed by an Irresistible fervour and pathos, whloh evoke the utmost enthusiasm wherever they appear. Their programme also Includes orchestral selections and a series of solo performances, m the course of whloh c number of original Instruments — Xllophons, Guitars, Harp, Mandoline Zithers, Piano, Bow Zither, the Cello Zither, Violin, Plcoolo, Flute, Drum, Ocarina, etc, are requisitioned with remarkable effect. To quote a recent review on Tyrolese Jodelling— " The oharm of Tyroleie muslo lies In its purity of muslstl expression, m its warmth of feeling, and its fulness of stmtiment. The song, whloh to theie honest mountaineers, serves as a mediam for the expression of emotion, generally opens with a simple melody, which, growing m musical oolor as it proceeds, towards the end is enrlohed m parts with some unexpected and refreshingly fine modulations.
