At the wool sales there is keen competition, and the prices received approach the highest rates obtained at the December sales, except lor qhort and heavy merinos,, Twenty thousand carcases of frozen mutton from the Argentine Republic have been landed at Glasgow. (Received February 11, 2 30 p.m.) London, February 9 Tallow is muoh depressed, and at the auctions today only seventy- fivo (sic) casks were sold, Mutton, 80s; beef, ; 2 ss. The English wheat market is improving, the Continental is firm, and the American steady. Australian, new crop, on passage is quoted at 38s ; New Zealand, on passage 86s. Australian flour 295.
