I have tested the sample of Cement delivered to me on Friday, 18th inst., with the following result ; — 1 962 1 940 1 9(J6lbs per briquett. Thi* I consider a good test, but hid it been cooler I think the result would bave been better, as the Cement sets too quickly m this very hot dry weather. (Sgd) S. Dbbbridgh, Inspeotor of Works for Harbor Board, Lyttelton. The above gives an average test of !16lbs per square inch. Knight, Sevan, and Eturges test gave an average of 3401 bs per square inoh.
