We learn from Ohristoburoh papers tbat a meeting of tbia Union was bald on the I 6th inct. m tho Blue Ribbon HaU. There was a s/nod attendance. In the ebsenoe of tbe PfCßicfeut. Mrs Vocables woe voted to tho chair. A letter was read from the President, Mrs Ocrle't, resigning her position, whloh the meeting unanimously agreed should not be acoepted, Mr Willis proposing that a reply be written to Mrs Oorlett, assuring her of the sympathy and support of the members of the Unior, and begging her to retain her position as President. The Secretaries and Tre««or<3r of last year was re-electad. Five VioePreaidents, and superintendents of tbe 1 following departments cf work were then | elected, vie , franchise, hygiene, juvenile work, relief work, unfermeated wine, literature, toolal purity, Prison Gate ( Mtislon, agricultural shows," ltiflienotng , the Press- Annual subeariptlons and also donations to fand fcr defraying nation*] [ offioero' expenses to Convention were paid t *nd tho meeting closed wih the doxology. i — — — —
