IRISH AFFAIRS.
(Prr Pkkss association.; London, February 4. Mr Sexton, M.P., returned the cards of invitation to the official levee sent from Dublin Castle. Immense meetings are being held m Dublin and elsewhere to protest against the treatment of Mr O'Brien. Mr J. R. Cox, member for East Clare, has been sentenced to four months ! imprisonment on a charge of inciting. London, F«bru*ry 6 The Eoman Catholic hierarchy m Ireland are protesting against " the inhuman indignities " to which Mr Wta. O'Brien is being subjected by the prison authorities. Mr Dennis Kilbride, M.P. for Kerry, has been arrested at Leicester for advocating boycotting. Mr Dillon has abandoned bis visit to Australia, m consequence of the treatment to which his colleague, Mr O'Brien, has been subjected.
