Bib,— Tour "leaderette" on the hulking men and larrikin boys m Ashburton is most seasonable. The bad condnot of these men and boys extends beyond the streets. On visiting the Pnblio Domain on Saturday last I found that one of the entrance gates had been taken off its hinges and thrown on to the ground. In addition to this two of the seats m the Domain have been wilfully injured— one has been thrown into the water and another has had its back broken. Whoever has been guilty of this wantonness— and I don't think we should have far to 100k — deserves a good thrashing With regard to coarse language I notioed , on Saturday two me j m the Domain feeding the swans and ducks, and the men were highly delighted whoa the swans oho sod the docks, and did everything to make them chase them again and again But what disgusted me most was the use of the word " bloody " by the men. No 1 Billingsgate fishman could have introduced it oftecer. If I had had a lady with me I should have been perfectly ashamed for I her to hear the language used. These men, I think, are writing to be engngert by some respectable farmer* All lean say is •'God help the farmer who engages them."

These people are residents m Ashburlon, and 1 think that if they should happen to read this communication (should yon deem it worthy of inee froa m your paper) it would be as well to take the hint, and use language whiob their mothers and fathers can listen to without any fear of their receiving a oastigation.
