Business m town is exceedingly quiet farmers evidently being well oooupiod. Orders from Australia are not plentiful, and, on the whole, a quietness pervades the markets. Freights are diffloult to arrange which m a measure rotards business. Wheat- -Old sarnpleß on offer command Ss Gd to 8s dd for prime milling, saaond quality is dull at 3s 3d and brokan wheat, 2j 6d to 2a 9d. Oatb — Considerable saleß have been made on the basis of 2s 6d to 2s 7d for stout short feed. Milling would oommand a slightly better price, but at present millers are holding of!, sooond quality aro neglected at 2a 4d i to 2s fid. Barley. — Sevorai large linos have boon placed at very satisfactory prioos to growers, •li to 48 3d being given for the pick of earqplog, while eeoond quality ib shunned for the time being. Peas. — Feas have had a good enquiry at 3a 3d for Prußßian Bluos. Feed are quiet at 3s» Beans. — Beans havo boon wanted at 3a 3d. Rykqiiabb Skhd. — This market ib quiet m the abßonoe ofjany quantity offoring. Small lines on tbe market are taken up at 3« Od for maohinn dressed, and 2s Gd to 2a Od for farmers' parcels. Cookmfoot— Cocksfoot is now offering freoly at 3d, but with exceptions of prime lines this figure is not obtainable. Botteb. — Tho market for tbis m tho absence of Australian enquiries is still very weak, whilst stocks held m dealers hands aro heavy. Wo aro pleased to find that a conaiderable quantity is being got ready for shipment to England by a. a.
