HAWKERS' LICENSES.
TO THE XDTTOB. Sir,—l noticed a report of a case heard lome time ago In the Looal Court, In whloh the Town Olerk proceeded against a man nimed Letbaby for hawking with' ont a license. Gould ypu inform me whether the numerous foreigners who hawk their goods from door to door, and terrify nervous women into purchasing their useless warea, are all duly licensed by the Borough Council, or whether they are allowed to go free, while a white man who keeps the money he earns In the eoontry Is compelled to pay a license fee, or fight the matter ont before the R.M. — I am, <fee., Ratepaysb.
