! Mr Peter Williams (for Messrs Friedlander I Bros.; reports upon the Live Stock Market ABhburton, January 22nd : — The entries comprised about 3.000 sheep and 50 head of cattle. There was a fair sprinkling of farmers, but the bidding was on the whole anything but spirited, owing to the dry weather, and several lots were turned out unßold. The sales effected were as follows : — Fat orbssbred ewes, 7s Id to 8s ; do. wethers, up to 12s 6d ; two-tooth crossbred ewes and wethers up to 8a 3d ; full-mouthed crossbred ewes, 4b 8d to 5s 6d ; orossbred ewes and lambs, all counted, 4s 8d ; fat lambs, 9s. Fat oattle were m very poor demand, and sales were unimportant.
